March for Babies

This morning was the March of Dimes March for Babies event here in Lawrence. Azrael, Jordan and I arrived at the park just a few minutes until 9 a.m. I signed in, got my “i walk for” sticker and wrote Az and Jordan on it, and we were left to amuse ourselves for an hour before the walk started. Azrael went in the bouncy castle twice, got her face painted and a butterfly balloon animal, and had some juice. I took pictures with my cellphone and fed Jordan a pre-walk breakfast.

The actual walk part, once we got started on it, was pretty quick, since we opted for the family-friendly one mile walk instead of the three mile walk. It felt like we were back at South Park in no time.

It was quite fun overall, and I’m very glad I participated and was able to raise even a tiny amount of money to help babies born premature. I will likely do it again next year. And next year, I’d love to have you walk with me!
