Giving thanks

Happy Thanksgiving!

I started writing this on my mom’s computer in lovely Valley Center. The four of us arrived safely, and was a great visit. Duke beat KU, but you can’t have everything.

As the day drew closer, I thought more about what I’m thankful for.

I’m thankful…

  • that I live in a country that allows and protects freedom of speech, freedom of (and from) religion, and other basic human rights
  • for my family — my loving parents, my wonderful sister, my grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins
  • for my husband and two silly, fantastic daughters, Azrael and Jordan
  • for my health, sanity, and all that I have been given.

This year, it’s been a little rough, what with Chris losing his job this summer, and the troubles we’ve had financially. But all we’ve dealt with are definitely First World problems. We’re crazy blessed, and very thankful.

What are you thankful for this year?
