For the last few weeks, I’ve been contemplating how best to organize our home. Our house, while not a disaster area, could use some sprucing up (in my mind, anyway). Plus, I feel that getting ahead of any clutter is best, especially as we’ve got two young daughters. If we don’t get a working system now, eventually we’ll be buried beneath our stuff.
My feeling is that one of the basics for organization is simply to have less stuff to organize in the first place, so this weekend I plan to tackle two rooms and one closet: our laundry/utility/computer room, our kitchen, and our coat closet.
In reply he said to them, “Whoever has two coats must share with anyone who has none; and whoever has food must do likewise.”
That’s Luke 3:11. John the Baptist might be a bit upset by our closet: There are four of us, but we have several coats per person. We live in Kansas, where the weather is unpredictable as a matter of course, but I no longer think we each need quite as many jackets and coats as we have. And that’s just one closet!
I’ll post progress as I go.
