Contrary to popular belief, I am not, in fact, dead.
And yes, that was a lot of commas. I apologize.
As of this writing, I have managed to secure employment of a sort — starting this week and going until Easter, I shall be manning (womanning?) a Honey-Baked Ham kiosk at the same Dillons my dear husband works at. After Easter, however, I shall resume my place among the ranks of the unemployed. I plan on speaking with someone I interviewed with back in January, though, to see if he has another opening. Perhaps that will work out.
In the meantime, I have been battling writer’s block, doing many dishes, and washing lots of laundry. I’ve also been reading a most excellent book, Almost Amish, by Nancy Sleeth. I highly recommend it, regardless of personal religious beliefs. Her call for a slower, more connected life can appeal across borders.
In fact, I think I will read some more right now!
